The idea

Leadership isn't learned at a desk.
It's felt, standing in front of something alive.

Noguchi's stone teaches the power of the pause. Rodin's six volunteers teach shared purpose. A 300-year-old Stradivarius teaches how to center under pressure. Dr. Mette Norgaard's Leading with Aliveness becomes a guided walk where each artwork is a chapter, and you are the reader.

01

Arrive

Meet at The Great Hall, or press play wherever you are. Your guide begins the moment you do.

02

Look slowly

Narrated stops invite you to see, sense and pause. Directions between works are built in.

03

Lead differently

Each work leaves you with one idea you can carry into Monday morning.

The Core Disciplines

5 powers, woven through
sixteen works.

Not abstract ideas. Felt experiences in front of masterworks.

I

Pause

The quiet courage to stop before you act. Stillness is not an absence of momentum—it is where clarity gathers.

Felt at Noguchi's water stone
II

Perspective

Stepping back until the whole horizon enters the room. Widening your frame so what is essential can finally be seen.

Felt under Hokusai's parting wave
III

Practice

Devotion to the small, repeated discipline. Returning daily to your craft until intuition and composure become one.

Felt in the quiet reverence of the dojo
IV

Pride

The dignity of purposeful contribution. Grounded self-respect that elevates those around you instead of claiming the light.

Felt among Rodin's six volunteers
V

Play

Lightness inside high stakes. The agility to experiment, embrace paradox, and stay alive to unexpected openings.

Felt in the tuned string of the Stradivarius
The route

Questions

How long does the walk take?

About 79 minutes and 2.4 miles across Floors 1, 1M and 2, starting at The Great Hall. Go slower, linger longer, it's self-paced.

Do I need to be an art person?

No. The works are doorways, not exams. You'll look, breathe and reflect, with no art history required.

Can I do it without visiting the Met?

Yes. The Stand-alone Stream carries the full narration and imagery wherever you are.

Is it good for teams?

Yes. It's a rare shared language for leadership offsites. Walk it together, then compare what each person noticed.

Your next hour
